The Anchorage Lynden Logistics team provided special support to the Capitol Christmas Tree project this winter after Lynden Drivers John Schank and Fred Austin departed from Seattle to Washington D.C. on a 4,000-mile journey Lynden coordinated from Alaska. To look its best – and fullest – tree branches were cut, palletized and flown from Lynden’s Anchorage warehouse to Washington D.C. to ‘fluff’ up the tree, an 80-foot Blue Spruce nicknamed Spruce Wayne. “In three hours, our team palletized, wrapped, strapped and tendered the pallets,” says Amy Oliver, Director of Freight Operations, “and the branches arrived in D.C. in less than 24 hours.”
