Lynden Air Cargo ships aircraft engine replacement to Maui

Fri, Feb 17, 2023

aircraft-engineWhat you see above is a fairly typical move for Lynden Air Cargo's Hercules aircraft. Known for its quick turnaround for Aircraft On Ground (AOG) emergency situations, the Boeing 757 aircraft engine being loaded is on its way to repair a plane in Maui. "We are often called upon to deliver parts and supplies for AOG repairs," explains First Officer Aaron Brammeier. In this case, Lynden flew into Los Angeles to pick up a new engine and delivered it to Maui where the crew was standing by to install it in the grounded plane. Lynden's flight crew then loaded up the old engine and flew it back to Marana, AZ. "We operated similar missions from Charlotte, NC to Aruba, Tulsa to Newark and Atlanta to Portugal for other airlines in 2022," Aaron says. The foreign locations require detailed permitting and planning.
