Lynden International Logistics Distribution Manager Darryl Collins (above left) received a humanitarian award from the City of Calgary in recognition of his volunteer work in the Calgary community. The award event included testimonials from youth, parents, and words of appreciation about his work's impact. Darryl volunteers with Kerry's Place in Ontario which supports individuals with autism, preparing them for the workplace by running mock interviews and walking through real-life scenarios. He also volunteers with Calgary Surge Basketball, a Canadian professional basketball team, helping with youth skills camps in the summer, outreach programs, and events. He is a coach at the local high school and started a youth mentorship program. "I'm exploring ways to expand this program with broader community and government support," Darryl says. "I'm also an advocate for women's sports in Calgary, working to improve accessibility and reduce barriers."
