hovercraft-multimodalLynden companies worked together on an urgent shipment for a customer this winter. "This was a high-profile move," says Paul Friese, Vice President Alaska Sales for Lynden Transport. "A critical part was needed to support drilling operations near Prudhoe Bay."

Lynden's Bethel crew crated the engine and Lynden Air Cargo flew it to from Bethel to Anchorage where Lynden Transport Driver Monte Barnedt (pictured below) was standing by to hotshot it up the haul road to Point Oliktok approximately 50 miles west of Prudhoe Bay. Bering Marine Corporation delivered the part to its destination via hovercraft (above).

Monte has been driving for Lynden for 16 years and is experienced on the often-treacherous Dalton Highway. Monte received a letter of appreciation from the customer for delivering the freight within a demanding timeline and in challenging driving conditions with freezing rain. According to Lynden Transport Fairbanks Service Center Manager Darren Stansbury, Monte has been putting his skills to use training new haul road drivers for many years.
