How and when did you start working for Lynden Air Cargo?
I was working in Afghanistan in 2020, a year before the U.S. withdrawal from the country, and I decided that it was a good time to seek employment elsewhere. I had previously worked for Lynden back in 2016 and enjoyed my time there, so I re-applied and was hired back that same year.
What is a typical day like for you?
Currently, I am in Flight Engineer training in Florida, so my typical day is going to class, training in the simulator, and studying back at the hotel.
What has been most challenging in your career?
The cold. When it's 30 below and blowing wind, it’s hard to tie your shoelaces, let alone maintain an aircraft.
What are you most proud of in your career?
I’m proud of the constantly changing and unique challenges that we overcome at Lynden Air Cargo to accomplish the job.
Can you tell us about your family and growing up years?
My wife and I have three kids, the youngest of which just arrived this past December. I am one of eight kids with four brothers and three sisters. I grew up in the thriving metropolis of Wahoo, Nebraska. I spent a lot of time as a kid playing outside and doing farm work.
What was your first job?
Paper Boy
What would surprise most people about you?
I would hate to ruin the surprise.
How do you spend your time outside of work?
I have three young kids, so anytime I’m not at work, I’m hanging out with those little troublemakers.
What do you like best about your job?
I enjoy the challenge and adventure of what we do.
