A boy named Lynden goes to Alaska

Fri, Nov 07, 2025

lynden_alaskaLynden Fetter is the son of Taylor Steele-Dupree, a Junior Iditarod musher sponsored by Lynden in 2013 when she was 16 years old. Before her son, Lynden, was born, Taylor was scrolling through pictures of the Junior Iditarod Race. "I noticed my race bib said Lynden, and it immediately came to me that Lynden is what I wanted to name my son," she says. "Also, Lynden's uncle is named Lynnford. It was nice to have a name with meaning on both sides for us."

Taylor studied at the University of Alaska and later earned a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics and Transportation Management from Bellevue University in Nebraska, inspired, she says, by her association with the Lynden companies.

Taylor recently reached out with an updated picture of Lynden posing at the Fred Meyer parking lot in Wasilla while on vacation with the family. "We finally made a trip to Alaska this summer, and got a picture," she writes. Lynden will be 7 years old in November and is in first grade at Bedford Elementary school in Bedford, PA.
