What's in a name? Apparently a lot. Taylor Steele-Dupree was a Lynden-sponsored musher in the Junior Iditarod Sled Dog Race in 2013. After graduating from high school, she studied biology at the University of Alaska and transferred to Penn State University in Altoona, PA in 2018. She later earned a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics and Transportation Management from Bellevue University in Nebraska.
"Before my son was born in 2018, I was scrolling through pictures of my Junior Iditarod Race when I was 16. I noticed my race bib said Lynden, and it immediately came to me that Lynden is what I wanted to name him," she says. "Lynden's uncle on his father's side (known as "Pappy Lyn") is named Lynford. It was nice to have a name with meaning on both sides for us. Ironically, Lynden was born on Pappy Lyn's birthday as well. Who knew the transportation industry would have such an influence on my life!"
